This website was originally created to support the VOTE NO campaign on the referendum to overturn the City-approved annexation of a portion of the Refuge golf course into the City of Lake Havasu. 

After the referendum was approved by the majority of the Lake Havasu citizens in May, 2011 and the annexation was overturned this website remained available but moved to a dormant status.

Recently, there have been a number of requests for additional information about the actions taking place at The Refuge.  The RTR (Rescue the Refuge) group will utilize this website on an as-needed basis to share information.

Attached is a document that includes a cover letter from the Aldridges dated November 20, 2009 requesting Refuge property owners to sign and date a Letter of Support.  Please note the statement in paragraph 3:  "It is important that you know we are by no means obligated to keep this property a golf course.  Should a few homeowners chose to stall or thwart our efforts to save this financially failed property we will find another land use that works as an investment." 

An overwhelming majority of Refuge property owners viewed that statement as a direct threat and elected not to sign this Letter of Support.  Some property owners did sign the requested Letter of Support, perhaps not realizing the financial and legal implications contained in the Aldridge's cover letter. 

Also attached in this document are copies of Letters of Support coming from the only two homeowners who represented the HOA membership at the time.
